Cranberry Brie Bites



A perfect hors d'oeuvre to serve during a holiday party, these tasty bites are fancy yet quick to make. They taste delicious and are sure to impress all of your guests. The homemade cranberry sauce is quite fast to bring together and takes this recipe to the next level.


If you are looking for a unique appetizer for your next party this could be perfect! If you want to switch up the flavors, the recipe works just as well with brie and fig jam instead of cranberry. The cranberries are just a nice touch since they are fresh during the winter. (The cranberry sauce used in this recipe is also delicious over turkey or ham.) No matter how you choose to make them, these bites are a great dish to serve during the holidays.

Makes 24 servings

Preparation Time: 35 minutes (if making homemade cranberry sauce, if not only 15 minutes)

Cook Time: 20 minutes



Ingredients for cranberry sauce:

*12 ounces of fresh cranberries (thaw first if using frozen)

*3/4 cup fresh orange juice

*Zest of 1 large orange

*1/4 heaping cup of honey

*1/4 cup water

*1/8 teaspoon cloves

*1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

*Pinch of sea salt


Ingredients for bites:

*1 sheets of frozen puff pastry, thawed overnight in fridge

*Cooking spray, for pan

*Flour, for surface

*8 ounce wheel of brie

*3/4 cup homemade cranberry sauce (or store bought)

*1/2 teaspoon maldon flakey salt

*1/2 cup pecans, chopped


Preparation for cranberry sauce:

*Combine all ingredients: cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, honey, water, cloves, cinnamon, and salt in a pot over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring occassonaly.

*Continue stirring and cook for about 15 minutes until the cranberries break apart and the sauce has thickened. If your mixture is too thick add water a bit at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

*Cool before adding to bites. (Or make in advanced and keep in the fridge.)


Preparation for bites:

*Place the Brie in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up.

*Preheat the oven to 375F.

*Coat a mini muffin pan with nonstick spray.

*Lightly flour your work surface and unroll your sheet of puff pasty.

*Roll out the dough and cut into 24 squares. Place squares into muffin tin.

*Cut brie into small squares and place into the puff pasty. Top with a scoop of cranberry sauce, a sprinkle of pecans, and a tiny sprinkle of salt.

*Bake until puff pastry is golden brown, for about 20 minutes.

*Let cool and enjoy!
