Refreshing and flavorful this appetizer is a bright start to any dinner. Basil, tomato, and mozzarella are a classic combination that work beautifully together. Serving the salad on toothpicks make this dish an easy to eat finger food. Whether you have passed hors d'oeuvres or the salad is presented with dinner, your guests are sure to enjoy this fun bite.



Caprese Salad on a Stick

Makes 24 skewers

Preparation Time: 10 minutes


Ingredients:

*1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

*16 ounce package fresh basil leaves

*24 small fresh mozzarella balls

*Toothpicks

*3 tablespoons olive oil

*Salt and pepper, to taste


Preparation:

*Place a tomato half, a small piece of basil leaf, and a mozzarella ball onto toothpick.

*Continue this process until all ingredients are used.

*Drizzle the olive oil over the tomato, cheese and basil, leaving the end of the toothpick clean.

*Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

*Serve immediately.
